Kos is one of the flattest, most stroller-friendly Greek islands: the town has dedicated cycling and walking paths along the seafront, and most streets in Kos Town and the resort strips are paved and level. It's a genuinely easy island to navigate with a pushchair compared to the steeper Cycladic islands.

🍽️Food & Eating

Tavernas across Kos are relaxed with families, and the flat, bike-friendly layout of Kos Town makes it easy to stop for a meal between sights like the Castle of the Knights or the ancient Agora. High chairs and kids' menus are common in the resort areas around Kardamena and Tigaki.

🛡️Safety

Kos is calm, low-crime, and well set up for family tourism, with wide pavements and cycle paths reducing the usual toddler-on-foot hazards found on hillier islands. As with the rest of Greece, summer heat is the main thing to plan around, especially in the exposed square around the Hippocrates Plane Tree and the castle grounds.

The General Hospital of Kos in Kos Town is the main facility and is used to treating tourists during the busy summer season, though English can vary by staff member. Resort areas like Kardamena and Tigaki have private clinics that are typically quicker for everyday issues like sunburn or stomach upsets.
