Fort Kochi's flat, tree lined streets around the Chinese fishing nets and Jew Town are genuinely stroller friendly, one of the easier historic districts in India to push a pram through. Backwater houseboat trips involve a bit of boarding assistance but decks are flat and manageable once aboard.

🍽️Food & Eating

Kerala cuisine leans on coconut, rice, and fish rather than heavy spice, and dishes like appam with stew or plain rice and dal are gentle on toddler stomachs. Seafood is excellent and fresh along the coast, though as elsewhere in India stick to bottled water and well cooked food.

🛡️Safety

Kerala consistently ranks as one of India's safest and most literate states, and Fort Kochi's tourist district feels calm and unhurried compared to the big metros. Humidity is high year round and monsoon rain is heavy from June through September, so plan outdoor time around the weather.

🏥Hospitals

Aster Medcity and Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, both in Kochi, are large modern hospitals with dedicated pediatric emergency departments and are well regarded regionally. Lakeshore Hospital near Maradu is another solid option for families staying on the Ernakulam side.
