Kigali is famously clean and orderly, with decent pavements in the central and Kimihurura districts, though the city is very hilly, which makes stroller pushing more of a workout than in flatter cities. Shopping centers like Kigali Heights are modern and fully stroller-friendly.

🍽️Food & Eating

Kigali's restaurant scene has grown quickly, with plenty of pizza, pasta, and burger options in areas like Kimihurura and Nyarutarama alongside Rwandan dishes like brochettes. High chairs are increasingly common at the more established restaurants.

🛡️Safety

Rwanda is consistently ranked among Africa's safest countries, and Kigali feels calm, orderly, and easy to navigate with young kids, day or night, compared to many regional capitals. The genocide memorial sites are moving but not appropriate for toddlers.

🏥Hospitals

King Faisal Hospital has a good reputation and some English-speaking staff, making it the main option for international families. Care is generally solid for a city this size, though serious cases may still be referred abroad.
