Hua Hin is one of the calmer, more family-oriented resort towns on the Gulf coast, with a lower key nightlife scene than Pattaya. The beach shelves gently in most areas, making it a good swimming spot for toddlers, though jellyfish can appear occasionally, so ask locally before letting kids in the water.
