Resort areas around Naha and the Onna coast have smooth promenades and modern malls (American Village, Naha's Kokusai Street) that are easy with a stroller, but many beaches require carrying it over sand or down steps to the shore. A beach-ready baby carrier is worth packing alongside the stroller.

🍽️Food & Eating

Okinawan food is generally mild and kid-friendly, from champuru stir-fries to Okinawa soba, and most resorts run buffet-style family dining with high chairs. Convenience stores and family restaurants are easy fallbacks. Outside the main resort strips, English menus can be sparse, so a translation app helps.

🛡️Safety

Okinawa is very safe with low crime and safe tap water. The biggest planning factor is weather: peak typhoon season runs August-September and can disrupt flights and beach days, while jellyfish (habukurage) are a summer hazard, so many beaches set up protective nets and it's worth packing rash guards for swimming.

🏥Hospitals

Naha City Hospital and University of the Ryukyus Hospital handle serious cases, but English-speaking staff are less common than in mainland Japan's major cities. Resort concierges are usually well practiced at connecting families with English-speaking doctors, and pharmacies in Naha stock familiar toddler medicines.
