Galle Face Green and the malls around it, plus the newer Port City area, have flat, open spaces that work well with a stroller. Older neighborhoods like Pettah have uneven pavements and heavy traffic, so a carrier is more practical there.

🍽️Food & Eating

Sri Lankan food is flavorful and can be genuinely spicy, so ask for dishes 'not spicy' or stick to rice, dhal, and hoppers made plain. Hotel restaurants and cafes in Colombo 3 and 7 are used to accommodating young kids with high chairs.

🛡️Safety

Colombo is generally safe for families, with traffic being the main everyday hazard rather than crime. Tap water isn't safe to drink, so stick to bottled water, and pack mosquito repellent given the dengue risk, especially in the wetter months.

Asiri Central Hospital and Nawaloka Hospital are well-regarded private hospitals in central Colombo with English-speaking doctors and pediatric units, both used to treating international visitors.
