Curacao's dry, flat landscape overall makes it easier going than the hillier Caribbean islands. Taxis are affordable for hopping between areas.

Resort and beach club restaurants are relaxed about kids, and local dishes like keshi yena are mild enough for younger palates. The floating market and Punda's cafes are fun, casual options for older toddlers. Tap water is safe to drink, it's desalinated like on Aruba.

Curacao is calm and low-crime by regional standards, and it sits outside the main hurricane belt, a genuine planning advantage. The colorful Handelskade waterfront and Punda are safe to explore on foot during the day. Reef-protected beaches like Mambo Beach are calm and good for young swimmers.

Curacao Medical Center (formerly St. Elisabeth Hospital) is a modern facility with English and Dutch-speaking staff and pediatric care. Pharmacies are easy to find in Willemstad and near the resort areas. Standard travel insurance is generally sufficient given the solid local healthcare infrastructure.
