Downtown's Broadway strip is lively but not particularly toddler-oriented in the evenings; families tend to base themselves near the Gulch or Germantown, which are quieter and have smoother sidewalks. The Nashville Zoo and Cheekwood Estate both have stroller-friendly grounds.

Southern comfort food and casual family diners are everywhere, and most restaurants outside the late-night honky-tonk strip are relaxed about kids. Tap water is safe to drink.

Nashville is generally safe, though the Broadway entertainment district gets rowdy at night and is better visited earlier in the day with kids. Humid summers make spring and autumn the more comfortable seasons.
