Seattle's main tourist areas are generally safe, though parts of downtown near Pike Place have visible homelessness that some families prefer to route around. Rain is frequent outside summer, so pack accordingly.

Seattle Children's Hospital is nationally ranked and one of the best paediatric facilities in the country. Pharmacies and urgent care clinics are plentiful across the city.
