Downtown Salt Lake City has wide, grid-planned streets and flat sidewalks that make stroller navigation easy, including around Temple Square and City Creek Center. Most museums and the public transit system (TRAX) are step-free.

🍽️Food & Eating

Family-friendly chains and local diners around Temple Square and Sugar House have high chairs and kids' menus, and the food scene is more varied than its reputation suggests. Some restaurants require a food order alongside drinks, but that rarely affects families.

🛡️Safety

A low-crime, easygoing city overall, with clean, well-lit downtown streets. The main practical concern is altitude (around 4,300 feet), which can cause mild fatigue or dehydration in young kids for the first day or two.

🏥Hospitals

Primary Children's Hospital is a nationally ranked pediatric hospital and one of the best reasons to feel confident bringing a toddler here. Pharmacies are widely available downtown and in the suburbs.
