Nearly all Punta Cana travel happens within sprawling all-inclusive resorts, which have smooth paved paths, elevators, and stroller-friendly buffets throughout. Outside the resort bubble, roads and pavements are inconsistent, so day trips are best done by pre-booked transport rather than walking with a stroller. Most resorts also rent or lend strollers.

All-inclusive resorts are built around family dining, with kids' buffets, high chairs, and 24-hour snack options standard. Local excursions to towns like Higuey offer casual Dominican food (rice, beans, plantain) that's mild and easy for kids. Stick to resort or bottled water.

🛡️Safety

The resort zone is heavily secured and considered very safe for families, with most visitors never leaving the property. Petty theft can occur if you wander into non-tourist areas without a guide, so book excursions through reputable operators. Strong sun and humidity are the main daily hazard, keep hats and sunscreen on hand.

🏥Hospitals

Hospiten Bavaro and Centro Medico Punta Cana both treat tourists regularly and have English-speaking staff and pediatric care. Most resorts also have an on-site doctor for minor issues. Confirm your travel insurance covers off-resort hospital transfer before you go.
