Aruba's flat, arid terrain and well-paved resort strip along Palm Beach make it one of the easier Caribbean islands for strollers. Downtown Oranjestad's shopping streets are also smooth and manageable. Sidewalks thin out once you're off the main tourist strip, but taxis are easy to flag.

The resort strip has a huge range of family-friendly dining, from casual beach bars to international chains, and English menus are standard. Local Aruban dishes like keshi yena are mild and easy to share with kids. Tap water is safe to drink, it's desalinated and considered some of the cleanest in the Caribbean.

Aruba is one of the safer Caribbean destinations, with low crime and a stable, tourist-dependent economy that keeps the resort strip well maintained and patrolled. It also sits outside the main hurricane belt, a real plus for trip planning. The main practical risk is sun and wind, the trade winds mean sunburn creeps up unnoticed.

Dr. Horacio Oduber Hospital is the main hospital and has English-speaking staff used to treating tourists, including pediatric cases. Pharmacies are widely available near the resort strip. Confirm your insurance covers off-island evacuation for anything requiring specialist care, as Aruba's facilities are good but limited for complex cases.
