Seven Mile Beach itself is soft sand, tough going for a stroller, so a beach-friendly carrier or all-terrain option works better for daily use. Resort grounds are generally flat and easy. The West End's clifftop paths are scenic but uneven, better suited to carrying than wheeling.

🍽️Food & Eating

Beachfront restaurants and resorts are relaxed and kid-friendly, with fresh seafood and mild jerk options widely available. Rick's Cafe and other casual spots welcome families, though sunset crowds can get lively. Bottled water is the safer choice.

🛡️Safety

Negril is generally laid-back and tourist-friendly, with the beach and West End areas well used to families. As elsewhere in Jamaica, it's best to stick to known tourist areas and use registered taxis after dark. Ocean currents and sea urchins near the reef are worth asking your resort about before letting kids swim freely.

🏥Hospitals

Negril has a small public hospital, but for anything beyond minor issues, most visitors head to Hospiten in Montego Bay (about an hour's drive) for English-speaking private care. Resorts typically have a doctor on call for routine problems. Confirm evacuation coverage in your travel insurance given the distance to major hospitals.
