The Myrtle Beach boardwalk and Broadway at the Beach are flat, paved, and stroller-friendly, and most resorts have elevators and ramps. The soft sand on the beach itself is the only real obstacle, so a beach-specific stroller or wagon with wide wheels helps for the walk down to the water.

Family chains like Crabby Mike's and Original Benjamin's Calabash Buffet are set up for kids with high chairs and casual seating, and there are plenty of pancake houses and pizza places along Highway 17. Most restaurants are used to families and don't mind noise or mess.

A generally safe beach resort town, though rip currents are the main hazard so check flag warnings before swimming. Tap water is safe to drink, and the tourist areas around the boardwalk and Broadway at the Beach are well patrolled.

Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach has a pediatric ER and is the main hospital serving the area. CVS and Walgreens pharmacies are widely available for formula, sunscreen, and minor medications.
