Avenida Quinta (5th Ave) is pedestrianized and stroller-friendly for its full length, though the paving stones get bumpy in older stretches. Most all-inclusive resorts have flat, wide paths and lend strollers at the front desk. Sidewalks away from the tourist core are inconsistent, so a carrier is handy for excursions to cenotes or ruins.

🍽️Food & Eating

Resorts and 5th Ave restaurants are used to young kids, with high chairs and simplified menus standard. Street-food taco stands are cheap and delicious but skip raw salsas for toddlers and stick to bottled water. Supermarkets like Chedraui and Walmart stock familiar baby food and formula brands.

🛡️Safety

Tourist zones around 5th Ave and the resort corridor are heavily patrolled and generally safe for families, though Quintana Roo has seen occasional cartel-related violence away from tourist areas, so stick to well-known zones and avoid late-night wandering. Tap water isn't drinkable, use bottled or filtered water for mixing formula. Sun and heat are the bigger daily risk, so plan around midday shade.

🏥Hospitals

Hospiten Riviera Maya and Costamed both have English-speaking staff, pediatric care, and are used to treating tourists (and their travel insurance). Pharmacies (farmacias) are everywhere and well-stocked. Get travel insurance sorted before you go, private care is good but expensive without it.
